Senior Pastor

Pastor Naomi Hartman joined the Lutheran Church of the Foothills community in December 2021.  After receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Texas Lutheran University, Pastor Naomi went on to receive her Masters in Divinity from the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.  She was ordained as a Pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America on November 29, 2009, at her home church in Abilene, Texas.

For twelve years she served congregations in rural Nebraska and urban and suburban Maryland. Along with her husband, Rev. Greg Hartman, and their three children, Pastor Naomi is excited to participate in a congregation of faith that actively proclaims the inclusion of all God’s people in worship and fellowship.  She strongly advocates for Anti-Racism, Radical Hospitality and LGBTQIA+ inclusivity in our communities and, most importantly, in Christ’s church. She supports Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries and is a member of Proclaim, a professional community for LGBTQIA+ Lutheran ministry leaders.

Bookkeeper

Jodi Walters is the bookkeeper for Lutheran Church of the Foothills.  She has over 35 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll/human resources management.  She has a Bachelor degree in Accounting.  Her experience spans from  her own family business, an accountant for a local CPA firm and 9 years at the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  She is a Tucson native and counts herself lucky to have her two grown sons and 3 grandchildren who live here as well.

Office Administrator

Stacy has over 40 years experience in marketing, education, and community service. A graduate of the University of Illinois, she worked as a copywriter in in-house marketing departments for various companies, then later switched to teaching in elementary schools both in central Illinois and Arizona. In addition, she has had the opportunity to volunteer with a variety of community organizations. At home, Stacy loves to hike local trails and attend Tucson Pops concerts with her husband, Andy, bake, and read lots of books.

Los Campaneros Bell Choir Director 

Gloria Hoyme directs Los Campaneros, Lutheran Church of the Foothills' recently constituted handbell choir. Gloria has been playing handbells in worship since 1981. She is an experienced handbell choir director, having directed youth and adult bell choirs in United Church of Christ and ELCA Lutheran congregations in Tucson for many years. ​

Gloria is a teacher by training and experience. She received her BA in elementary and special education magna cum laude from Augustana University in Sioux Falls SD, and her MA in special education and rehabilitation from the University of Arizona. She has taught students in a variety of settings in Illinois, Vermont, Southern and Northern California, South Dakota and Arizona. 

She and her husband Gene enjoy music of all types, travel and spending time with their three children and six grandchildren.

Organist/Liturgy Coordinator

Pamela Decker completed her DMA in organ performance practices at Stanford University and studied in Germany as a Fulbright Scholar in Lübeck. She is Professor of Organ, Theory, and Composition at the University of Arizona in Tucson. As a composer, she has six publishers: The Leupold Foundation, C. F. Peters, Oxford University Press, Augsburg Fortress, Hinshaw Music, Inc., and World Library Publications. Her works have been performed in at least 19 countries. As a recording artist, she is with Loft/Gothic; also, many renowned colleagues have made commercial recordings of her works. Pamela Decker tours as a recitalist and has performed in the USA, Canada, Europe, and the Baltic Region. In 2018, the American Guild of Organists (AGO) named Pamela Decker as “AGO Distinguished Composer”; her resulting commission, “The Seven Last Words and Triumph of Christ,” received its world premiere performance by Douglas Cleveland and the Sperling Dance Troupe (with Kaley Jensen, choreographer and dancer) at the 2018 AGO National Convention. “An organist noble in the Bach line…as a composer-performer she falls clearly into a lineage from which Bach and Duruflé are but two points on a long and distinguished timeline… [Decker reveals] a formidable command of the instrument and its possibilities.” (Gramophone Awards Issue).

Choir Director/Ensemble Coordinator

For more than two decades, Jakub Rojek has been involved in cross-over performance, composition, and improvisation. He has appeared alongside jazz greats Dave Holland, Roscoe Mitchell, Dave Douglas, Cecil McBee, John Hollenbeck, Michael Cain, ECM pianist Dominik Wania, and Tim Lefebvre among others and has been awarded prizes and scholarships from International Composition Competition in Darmstadt, Germany, Internationale Bachakademie Stuttgart, New England Conservatory, and performed in venues such as Jordan Hall in Boston, Steinway Hall and Spectrum in New York City, Crowder Hall in Tucson, and Chopin Theatre in Chicago. His works have been featured at Oh My Ears New Music Festival in Phoenix, Tocalo Tucson and documented on five album releases. Rojek has received commissions and worked with visual artist Karine Laval, Grammy-nominated multi-reedman Aaron Kruziki, Polish soprano Milena Lange, Self-Imposed Exile, Javelinas, Leah Netsky, film maker and producer Michael Dohrmann, Özlem Ayse Özgür, and percussionist Michael Pratt. He also regularly performs with his Polish quartet featuring saxophonist Bartek Prucnal, bassist Alan Wykpisz, and drummer Grzegorz Pałka.
