New around here?

Welcome!

It can be a challenge to find the right church community. Whatever the circumstances that brought you here, we’ve created a space for you.

Check out our FAQs below for answers to some common questions. If you have a question not covered on this page, we’d love to talk.

What is Lutheran Church of the Foothills?

Lutheran Church of the Foothills is a welcoming and inclusive community called and empowered to proclaim the radical love of Christ through lives of service. Located in Tucson, Arizona, we are rooted in the traditions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and offer a space where faith meets action and all are invited to belong.

How do I get to Lutheran Church of the Foothills?

Lutheran Church of the Foothills is located at 5102 N. Craycroft Road, Tucson, AZ 85718. The building is located on the southeast corner of Craycroft and Territory Drive.

What should I wear to Sunday worship?

Here in the Sonoran Desert, we wear comfortable and casual clothing. We also follow Jesus’ model of practicing inclusivity and an open table. This means all people are welcome to worship, celebrate communion, fellowship, learn, and join us as we go out into the world to share the love of Christ.

What can I expect at worship?

At a worship service, you will experience bible readings; music such as organ, piano, handbells, instrumental ensembles, and choir; singing; a message for children and adults; a communion table that is open to all; prayers of the people; an opportunity to support the ministries of Lutheran Church of the Foothills; and a commission to go into the world to share the grace and love of Christ.

What do you offer for the children?

We enjoy having children in worship and provide a special place near the front on the pulpit side of the worship space designated the Pray-Ground where children can worship, wiggle, play, color, learn, and grow as part of our faith community. Caregivers are encouraged to sit where children can see them, in case they need assistance.

What worship options do you offer?

There are three ways to experience worship at Lutheran Church of the Foothills. Join our informal small group Discussion Gospel + Communion in the Learning Center at 8:00a, attend our traditional Sunday worship in the sanctuary at 10:00a, or join us online via Youtube at whatever times suits your schedule!

Will I be welcome?

All are welcome regardless of race, ancestry, color, citizenship, religious background, sexual orientation, age, gender identity, marital status, ability, economic status, or primary language. We believe that everyone belongs and shares a worth that comes from being a unique individual created by God.

Visitors will not be required to speak, sign anything, or give money. You will not be singled out, although you will be warmly greeted. Whether you worship online or in person, we embrace the diversity that visitors provide to our community.
