This book study discussion group meets every 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 10:30a and 5:30p at Beyond Bread on the southwest corner of Speedway and Wilmot. You don’t need to attend Lutheran Church of the Foothills or even to have read the book to participate in the discussion.

This Advent, we’re inviting all households—families, couples, and individuals—to continue our journey to deepen our knowledge of Scripture, with a Justice-Focused Jesse Tree devotional. From the First Sunday of Advent through Christmas Eve, you’ll follow the stories and ancestors in Jesus’ family tree whose courage, resilience, and faith carried God’s promise forward.

Cookies are needed for the Cookies and Cocoa fellowship time immediately after the 5:00p Christmas Eve service. Donations of either undecorated sugar cookies or your favorite Christmas cookies are due December 21.

December 14 is the date you need to bring in your unwrapped gifts for clients of Lutheran Social Services of the Southwest (LSS-SW). We are collecting slippers and bathrobes for the aging and disabled people served by (LSS-SW) as well as toys for the refugee children and youth LSS-SW serves.

Read & Yak resumes January 24, 2026. Whether or not you are affiliated with Lutheran Church of the Foothills or even live in Tucson, you are welcome to participate either live in person in the Activities Room or on Zoom.

Wednesday Evenings This Fall
Looking to dig deeper into the Bible? Join us Wednesdays at 6:30p in-person or via Zoom for Together by Grace: Bible Conversations—a time of Scripture study, honest discussion, and community. We’ll start with the Gospel of Matthew and mix in evenings of fellowship and fun for all ages.

For the past nine weeks we’ve traced the history of the Church, looking for the threads that shaped who we are today. A great deal has happened in the last 2,000 years — and some of it left deep marks on the churches we know and love. Our guiding question has been How We Got Here. Now we turn to the next question: Where Are We Going?

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego remain faithful to God in the face of mandatory idolatry and certain death in a fiery furnace. They are saved by God and promoted by an impressed King Nebuchadnezzar.

Help fight food insecurity among our neighbors and support Interfaith Community Services (ICS) Food Banks by donating food items. Read the article or see the west end of the Activities Counter for the complete list of needed items.

Sister Jose Women’s Center is a low-barrier shelter in Tucson for women without housing. Donations can be dropped off in the blue bin at the east end of the Activities Counter.

It’s time to update the Lutheran Church of the Foothills Church Directory. Please note any changes in your contact information by contacting the office before December 16. New church directories will be available upon request in January, after the holiday break.
