Generosity and Grace in Action at Our September 21 Blood Drive

Because of your participation over the past two months, our congregation’s first blood drive with the American Red Cross was a wonderful success. You:

• Listened to weeks of announcements.

• Read the details in Weekly Footnotes and on our website News Blogs.

• Took flyers to invite people you knew—and people you didn’t know.

• Signed up to help in many different ways on the day of the blood drive.

• Made appointments to give blood yourselves.

• Prayed for our planners, volunteers, and donors.

And together, you met and exceeded every goal for our September 21 Blood Drive!

• You filled all 29 appointment slots.

• You helped the American Red Cross exceed its goal of collecting 18 units of blood—they collected 25 units!

• You invited 17 first-time donors to sign up to give blood at our drive. The Red Cross was especially impressed and grateful that you helped bring so many new donors through the doors.

• You provided a convenient and welcoming location for people to give blood. Donors commented on this and said they would return if Lutheran Church of the Foothills sponsored another blood drive.

• Your warm and gracious hospitality—to donors, Red Cross staff, and fellow LCF volunteers—was noticed and appreciated.

• You treated everyone to home-baked snacks, including gluten-free cookies which were especially appreciated by those who needed that option.

Thank you for joining together in this Community Engagement Team ministry. September 21, 2026, was a busy and joyful day at Lutheran Church of the Foothills, and those who were here enjoyed working side by side as we welcomed our neighbors and helped them give a gift that can save lives.
