Mid-Year Financial Update

As we approach the halfway point of 2026, the Council wanted to provide a brief update on the financial health of Lutheran Church of the Foothills through May.

First, there is good news: our church remains financially strong overall. We continue to maintain substantial reserves and investments, along with a solid financial foundation that enables us to support our ministry today while planning for the future.

Unfortunately, our day-to-day operating budget has experienced some challenges this year. General Fund giving has been lower than anticipated, currently running about $8,700 below budget through the first five months of the year. In addition, several unexpected property maintenance expenses (plumbing repairs, new lock and alarm systems, painting and roof repairs, pest control) have occurred, increasing costs beyond what was originally planned. Overall, the property expenses/upkeep category is the most over budget through May, and the church is about $9,000 over budget for the year.

Despite these challenges, many expense categories have remained under budget. We are grateful for the faithful stewardship of this congregation and for the careful management of expenses throughout the year.

As we move into the summer months, we will continue to closely monitor giving, expenses, and cash flow. Summer can often bring natural fluctuations in attendance and giving, so your consistent financial support remains especially important.

Our mission and ministry at Lutheran Church of the Foothills remain strong. The church is financially stable, and the Council continues to actively monitor our finances, so that we can be good stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

Thank you for your continued generosity, participation, and support of our shared ministry.

—Matt Collins, Council Treasurer
