New Season, Shared Calling: Bruce Rianda Called to Synod Council

Bruce Rianda, Kino Conference Representative for the Grand Canyon Synod Council

Lutheran Church of the Foothills is blessed to have one of its members, Bruce Rianda, represent the Kino Conference in the shared calling of the Grand Canyon Synod Council. The Grand Canyon Synod Council is elected by the Synod Assembly to serve as the Synod’s board of directors and its interim legislative authority between assemblies. In plain terms, the Council carries forward the work we commit to together: setting program goals and budgets, stewarding our mission, caring for leaders, and making sure our actions reflect our faith in Jesus Christ for the sake of the world.

Let us all remember Paul’s encouragement to “do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God” (Col. 3:17). Pray that their work be rooted in prayer, framed by the Gospel, and aimed at building up the witness of congregations across Arizona, southern Nevada, St. George, and the Navajo Nation.
