Read & Yak: Help Us Choose Our Books for 2026!
Have you ever finished a book and wished you could talk it over with friends? Read & Yak is the perfect place to share your thoughts and hear new perspectives! If you’ve never joined us before, or have been away from Read & Yak for a while, January is a great month to jump in!
Help plan our reading list for 2026 when you join Read & Yak on Saturday, January 24, at 12:00p in the Activities Room at church or via Zoom. We’d love to discuss books YOU enjoyed reading or want to read in the near future. We embrace all kinds of books and genres—fiction, nonfiction, inspirational, challenging, classics, and everything in between.
Holly Hope is preparing the list of suggested books to hand out at the meeting. Email your suggestions to her at hollyhopeaz@gmail.com (please put "Yak" somewhere in the subject line!) or bring your ideas to the meeting. To introduce your suggested book(s), please include in your email:
Title
Author
Year Published (or edition, if important)
Number of Pages
Genre(s)
A few words about why you would enjoy discussing the book, if it won a special award, and/or a short description (often found at Amazon or GoodReads)
Whether or not you worship at Lutheran Church of the Foothills, live in Tucson, or have finished reading the book, you are welcome to join us in person in the Activities Room at church or via Zoom from 12:00p to 1:30p on the fourth Saturday of every month except December. Many of us bring our lunches to enjoy as we yak.
On January 24, bring your ideas—and your friends—and help us shape a fantastic year of reading and thoughtful conversation for 2026! Come in person or join us via Zoom: Click here to join the Zoom discussion. Meeting ID: 822 7558 0676. Passcode: 844657.
