Interfaith Community Services Fall Food Drive

Interfaith Community Services (ICS) is sponsoring a fall food drive during the month of October. ICS is asking for Fall and Thanksgiving-themed non-perishable food items.  This annual Fall Food Drive, previously known as Bag-a-Thon, is the biggest food drive of the year at ICS. Throughout October, this drive collects pantry staples to stock the Northwest and Mobile Food Banks. 

Holiday Food Items

  • Instant potatoes or canned yams (fresh also accepted)

  • Cranberry sauce

  • Canned veggies, especially green beans and corn

  • Boxed and bagged stuffing mix

  • Boxed baking mixes (Bisquick, cake mixes, Jiffy cornbread mix, etc.)

  • Gravy mix or canned gravy

  • Canned pumpkin

  • Cream of mushroom soup

Year-round Food Bank Staples

  • Peanut butter

  • Canned meats: tuna, chicken, Spam, etc.

  • Meals in cans with pop tops: chili, ravioli, soup, etc.

  • Pasta & canned (no glass) pasta sauce

  • Canned fruit & veggies

  • Pet food

  • Diapers (adult and child)

  • Hygiene Supplies

Check the table display in the narthex for more information.  During the last three months, Lutheran Church of the Foothills donated 534 pounds of food to ICS (including 308 jars of peanut butter).  Thank you for your generosity.  And so we continue to make a nutritional difference in the lives of many.  Contact Beth Daum if you have any questions.
