Read & Yak on August 23: House Made of Dawn
You are invited to join us at noon on Saturday, August 23, for a discussion of the novel, House Made of Dawn by N. Scott Momaday.
House Made of Dawn is widely credited as leading the way for the breakthrough of Native American literature into the mainstream. It was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1969. Itβs a story of a young Native American, Abel, who comes home from a foreign war to find himself caught between two worlds: the first connects him to the land and ancient rites and traditions and the second world of modern America pulls at his loyalty and claims his soul.
