Welcome Soldier’s Best Friend to Tucson on June 1

You are invited to the Grand Opening of the Tucson Facility of Soldier’s Best Friend on Monday, June 1. Their new Tucson Facility is located at 3102 East Fort Lowell Road (Winterhaven Shopping Center, southeast corner of Country Club and Fort Lowell). The Open House is from 3:00p to 6:00p, with the Ribbon Cutting at 4:30p. 

Since 2011 Soldier’s Best Friend has been dedicated to pairing rescued dogs with veterans and training the two together at no cost to the veteran. Pairing a veteran and a dog enables a veteran to live their life more fully and gives a dog a loving forever home. The dog learns skills specific to its veteran’s needs; the veteran learns proper service dog care.

This expansion marks an important milestone in Soldier’s Best Friend’s mission to serve veterans in Pima County living with military-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). With a 1,788-square-foot training facility and storefront space, Soldier’s Best Friend will be able to significantly increase access to life-changing programs and provide a welcoming environment for veterans and their families.

In September 2024 Soldier’s Best Friend was a Community Service Emphasis of Lutheran Church of the Foothills, when their closest facility to Pima County was in Mesa, Arizona.
