You are invited to a screening of “Exodus”
On November 15, Shalom Mennonite Fellowship (6044 E 30th St., Tucson AZ 85711) will be screening the documentary film “Exodus,” followed by a conversation with the filmmakers and friends from Agua Prieta who are featured in the film.
It is 2019 and at CAME, the only migrant shelter in the Mexican border town of Agua Prieta, Adalberto "Betto" Ramos and his bi-national team are sheltering thousands of migrants, mostly from Guerrero, Mexico. Through testimonies, scholar interviews and life at the shelter, the feature length documentary film "Exodus" sheds light on the causes of forced displacement, while offering hope in community and collective action. Following the film screening, the migrant shelter CAME team (Betto, Perla, Jack and Linda) will join the film team (Bijoyini and Juan Carlos) for a Q&A.
The event begins at 3:00 with a brief organization fair and food truck (Sumaj); transitioning to the film and panel discussion starting at 3:30. The organization fair and food truck will resume following the panel discussion, and participants are invited to stay for informal conversation and delicious Bolivian cuisine!
