  • How can we encourage more people to be involved in helping Lutheran Church of the Foothills meet God's call to engage with our neighbors in this place at this time?

  • What specific ministries will our congregation be involved in during the remainder of 2026?

You can participate in shaping the future of our congregation by sharing your insights on these questions during the meeting. The agenda includes:

  • Reveal the “Community Engagement Discernment Survey” results and discuss what those results tell us about the kinds of service God has equipped Lutheran Church of the Foothills to do at this time and in this place.

  • More thoroughly define the two ways our new Community Engagement Team will equip us to meet the needs of our neighbors:

    • Engage in service to our nearby neighbors by inviting them to events at our church for health, education, and community building, etc.

    • Engage in service to our community neighbors through hands-on projects at our building and out in the community.

  • Start organizing specific ministry activities for 2026:

    • STAR Breakfast Bags – providing no-cook breakfast items in individual bags to be distributed at the STAR shelter site.

    • Deepening Community Bonds – planning events to be held at our church to help our nearby neighbors learn that we are a helpful and friendly congregation.

The former Community Service Team and Neighborhood Interaction Team have realigned into one Community Engagement Team so that our congregation’s – your – gifts, resources, and ministries more faithfully meet God's call to serve our neighbors. This realignment is in response to a recommendation in the LEAD Program Report presented at our January 2025 Annual Congregational Meeting. Put your call to serve God into action by helping to organize this new Team and plan its ministry activities for 2026.

We look forward to your participation in this important Community Engagement Organizing Meeting and dinner on March 3. Come be part of the foundation for future ministries of our congregation!

May the Holy Spirit guide us as we shape our vision for ministry in the remainder of 2026 and beyond.
