New Additions to the Celebration Choir—Meet Hona

Chad’s Blog

As most of you know, we have been blessed to welcome three University of Arizona music students to our choir. Kyla Cooper (soprano/alto), Riley Troike (tenor) and Hona Vaioleti (bass) have supplemented our music in worship with skill, passion and joy, and become part of our choir family.

This effort was approved by the Worship and Music committee and Church Council, and has provided our choir with great support. We also feel blessed to provide a welcoming church environment and ministry to these young professionals.

We have utilized available funding sources within the church to fund this opportunity but are seeking additional support from congregation members who might be willing to sponsor a singer. The singers are compensated each time they attend a rehearsal or service. This investment would allow us to continue offering high quality support to our church choir, while providing an opportunity to benefit young musicians in our Tucson community.

If you are interested in sponsoring one of these talented musicians or want to learn more, please contact Chad Pittman, Music Ministry Leader.

A lifelong singer, he grew up performing and touring with the renowned Phoenix Children’s Chorus. Hona recently completed his mission with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Kingdom of Tonga, part of the Polynesian Islands, where he connected with his own family’s Polynesian heritage. He enjoys camping, music, and sports.
