Primavera Foundation: Community Service Emphasis for October
Lutheran Church of the Foothills has been a long-time partner with Primavera Foundation, and our volunteers have made, delivered, and served a hot stew meal at the Men’s Shelter each month for many years. This month, our Community Service emphasis focuses on our partnership with the Primavera Foundation.
The Primavera Foundation co-creates tangible pathways out of poverty with individuals and families. They focus their efforts on the root causes of poverty and homelessness and partner with community members as they overcome barriers that keep them from obtaining safe, affordable, permanent housing.
Currently, Primavera is partnering with Old Pueblo Community Services and the City of Tucson and preparing to launch STAR Village, a safe sleep space designed as a harm-reduction, trauma-informed refuge for women experiencing homelessness. This initiative centers on safety and healing.
On October 19, Tish Tallman, CEO of Primavera, will join us during and after the 10:00a worship service to update us on this new initiative and other happenings, such as Primavera Works.
