Women of the ELCA 2026 Gathering in Des Moines, Iowa - July 16 to 19, 2026

Registration is now open for the Women of the ELCA 2026 Triennial Gathering, taking place July 16–19, 2026, in Des Moines, Iowa. The theme, “I Am Worthy”, is inspired by Psalm 139:14: “I am fearfully and wonderfully made,” affirming our God-given worth and the Spirit’s power to bring healing in a world marked by division and struggle.

Women of the ELCA invites you to join them in nourishing women's faith and love and inspiring women to proclaim their identity, intent, and actions. The Women of the ELCA Triennial Gathering takes place every three years and gathers 1,500-3,000 women leaders, participants, and newcomers for four days of worship, inspiring speakers, workshops, service projects, and more!

Now is the time to make your plans to join this churchwide gathering that  brings Lutheran women together for worship, Bible study, plenaries, and workshops designed to empower, restore, and inspire. This is a sacred space to reflect on God’s promises, renew your spirit, and be surrounded by a vibrant community of women living out their faith.

Featured leaders include:

  • The Rev. Martha Ambarangu – Bible study leader

  • Dr. Elyssa Salinas-Lazarski & Elise Seyfried – Plenary speakers and workshop leaders

  • Bishop Amy Current – Opening worship preacher and presider

  • The Rev. Minna Bothwell – Closing worship preacher and worship coordinator

  • Dr. Kelly Sherman-Conroy, Rev. Dr. Susan Rose, Joy McElroy, Ginger Cutrell, and Dr. Mary J. Streufert – Workshop leaders

  • The Rev. DaMisha McFarland-Pollock and The Rev. Tracy Williams – Chaplains

Women from across the Grand Canyon Synod are encouraged to register early and begin making travel plans. Whether you’ve attended every triennial gathering or this will be your first, this is a unique opportunity to grow in faith and fellowship.
